War memorial, Priest's Knowe, Kirkmichael
The monument, a rugged cairn of large rocks, is almost completely covered by ivy but the presence of a wreath suggests it is still in peoples' thoughts. To reach it involves a steep flight of steps and it cannot be all that easy for any veterans to attend services here. This http://warmemscot.s4.bizhat.com/warmemscot-ftopic275-15.html includes an article from the Blairgowrie Advertiser of 18th Sept, 1920 describing the inauguration of the memorial and also a picture of it when free of ivy.

Walter Burnett plaque on the war memorial, Kirkmichael
For some reason Walter Burnett's name was not included on the main First World War plaque Image of the memorial. Perhaps he died of wounds at a later date after the plaque was created?

Kirkmichael War Memorial, Perthshire, Scotland
A memorial dedicated to the Glory of God and to the men of Strathardle who fell in the world wars, and to all who served. The war memorial comprises a cairn and obelisk, situated on Priest's Knowe, a small rise just to the south of the village. Steps lead up to the memorial from the nearby A924 road, although the memorial is not easily seen from the road as it is now mainly obscured by trees.
