A member of the family Sciaridae, possibly Sciara hemerobioides, although that species is rare or absent in Scotland according to published data, so maybe another species of Sciara.

The hoverflies Episyrphus balteatus, White Loch, near Blairgowrie
There were literally hundreds of this species on sow-thistle in particular; the species is a migrant and there has clearly been a massive influx.

The hoverfly Sphaerophoria interrupta, White Loch, near Blairgowrie
To be honest, the specific identity is nothing more than an educated guess based on distribution as the Sphaerophoria hoverflies cannot be separated except by miscoscopis examination of the male genitalia.
