St Mary's Rectory, number 28 St Mary's Street, was originally a medieval open hall house which has been much altered. Constructed of coursed rubble stone under a stone slate roof. Some early internal features and fittings remain. Formerly St Mary's Rectory, the house has medieval origins including some 12th century masonry, the current aspect being the result of 17th century alterations. Listed Grade II.

Built as a theatre in 1768, it closed in that form in 1871. Much of the interior was stripped out and it was used for a variety of purposes until being rebuilt and reopened as a theatre again in 1978 as part of the Stamford Arts Centre. Listed Grade II*.
