The Northfields pub
A small estate pub built when the houses were, which survived the 1970s on business from college tutors, and in recent years on business from students.

The Northfields, Stamford. Another one bites the dust
Closed for almost three years. A "Large 50s council estate pub which used to belong to Home Ales and was always busy when the local engineering companies (especially Blackstone's) were open for business and equally busy, as a large number of their employees lived on the estate. The fortunes of the pub declined with the closure of the Home Brewery and the engineering factories. In recent years it has changed hands on a regular basis. It is currently closed and boarded up." http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/23/2310/Northfields/Stamford
