Postbox in Northborough celebrates the Platinum Jubilee
This EIIR pillar box outside Northborough Post Office on East Road (box no. PE6 166) was "yarn bombed" in preparation for the extended bank holiday weekend from June 2nd. to 5th., 2022, to mark the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's accession to the British throne in February 1952. The Royal Mail has no objections to the unofficial decorating of its postboxes in this manner, a phenomenon known as "yarn bombing", provided that the slot is not obstructed so that customers are still able to post items and its staff are not hindered in collecting mail from the boxes.
