Eastbound A47, Sign for Swaffham's Eco-Centre
Swaffham is notable for the presence of two large Enercon E-66 wind turbines, and the associated Green Britain Centre, formerly known as the Ecotech Centre. The Green Britain Centre's displays focus on green energy (including solar and wind power), transportation options without oil, and organic gardening. The EcoTech Visitors Centre is one of the largest timber framed ecobuildings in the country. The Centre sits in eight acres of award winning gardens, home to a community heritage orchard, wildflower meadows and organic vegetable gardens, all open for the public to explore.
