Shown on the sign is Roger l’Estrange on his horse with Hunstanton Hall, which he had built, in the background. https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5957827 The observant will notice he is holding a spear. This is because he, or whoever is the head of the l’Estrange family, being Lord High Admiral of The Wash, he can lay claim to all things within the distance a man on a horse could throw a spear. The crests on the spandrels are that of the Women’s Institute and the l’Estrange family.

Those who were killed or died are identified with a K or D.
The reflections are unavoidable as the memorial is attached to the outside wall of the Old Hunstanton Social Club.
