Flint and Gingerbread cottages
Two contrasting building materials side by side. Flint is traditional in Norfolk by the gingerbread-look of the North Norfolk carstone (also known as Silsoe) which is a sedimentary sandstone conglomerate formed during the Cretaceous period. It varies in colour from light to dark rusty ginger dependant on the quantity of iron oxide present.
