Bridge near the A47 Saddlebow Roundabout
When the former Midland & Great Northern services were all but discontinued in 1959, South Lynn station was among many of the stations that closed. This bridge is very close to the location of the original bridge that passed under the road here; however, the original was a much larger affair than this one. The original bridge was likely demolished with the construction of the A47; this single-track bridge was constructed to allow freight trains to the sugar beet factory, for which a small section of the South Lynn branch was kept in use a while after the closure of the M&GN.
