This signal box forms part of the small station in the village and sits next to the level crossing on Station Road. According to the 1861 census the railway station was on Magdalen Road along with the Railway Tavern, ref http://www.findmypast.co.uk/CensusAddressSearchCountServlet and the road name was obviously changed after the station was built but the signal box retained the original road name.
