The former Docking Union Workhouse
It is situated just outside the village of Docking on the road towards Sedgeford and Heacham, and about 1,500 metres distant from the WW1 aerodrome site > http://www.geograph.org.uk/snippet/13188 at Sedgeford. Designed by John Brown and dating from 1835, the workhouse had been requisitioned by the military in 1916 and had served as the Officers' Mess for the duration of the war. In 1920 the building was purchased by the Docking Rural District Council and converted into 12 council dwellings. In 2000, a private developer bought and converted the structure into private apartments, currently known as "Norfolk Heights".
