The quarter takes its name from the town's famous son, Captain George Vancouver who, in 1792, sailed to the northwest coast of America and declared the land as “British Columbia”.

A deserted New Conduit Street in King's Lynn
Taken during the Coronavirus - Covid-19 pandemic. Even though Government restrictions had been eased a few days earlier allowing people to go out more than once a day few people were about on this Saturday afternoon, even though food stores and chemists' shops were open.
