The Sebastapol Cannon in Huntingdon
The 31st Huntingdonshire Regiment fought at Sebastapol in the Crimean War and captured a cannon from the Russian army. The cannon was erected on this plinth as a memorial to the men of Huntingdon who fought in the Crimea.
The original cannon was removed in 1942 and melted down to make arms during WWII and the cannon here today is a replica of the original.
