"King of the Belgians", Main Street, Hartford
The pub was established in 1541 and was originally called “King of Prussia” or “King of the Prussians” and was named after Frederick II (Frederick the Great) the King of Prussia. The pub was renamed “King of the Belgians” after WWI when Prussia became part of the Weimar Republic (as the free state of Belgium) in 1919.
