The Main Attraction
For anyone not familiar with a farm machinery dispersal sale, the goodies or the big equipment are sold last. The sale starts with probably a heap of scrap that makes silly money then tools sundry equipment, wheels, tyres, small implements. By this time the sale crowd has settled down. Next comes the modern stuff. Usually a two way bidding war with the auctioneer squeezing the last £50 out of a bid, and finally the tractors and usually a combine. For the record the Yellow JCB fastrac made £25,000, the next one along a Claas 45 tractor reached £30,000, and the other Claas tractor model 55 achieved £45,000. To see what the Claas combine made see Image

Selling A Combine
Almost the final lot, great anticipation as to who is prepared to bid for the most costly item on the sale field. The potential cost of a combine can be as much and sometimes considerably more than a modest house. To buy this combine you would have had to be prepared to spend in excess of £170,000 to secure the top bid. See also Image

More Roadside Parking
The dispersal sale at Model Farm, Grafham attracted a huge number of mostly frustrated farmers, sharing tales of woe about the abysmal harvesting conditions of the 2008 harvest. View towards Grafham village. See also Image
