The house is of solid, brick construction, with two living rooms downstairs as well as a pantry and scullery.

Labourer's cottage, Church Farm, Skegness
The farm, a.k.a. "The Village", is a museum of farming life. See http://www.churchfarmvillage.org.uk/ for information. The thatched cottage has wattle and daub walls and an earthen floor, only the chimney is brick.
Given the long working hours of the Agricultural Labourer and the need to tend to the vegetable patch, it is not surprising that their accommodation was so basic.
