Gunby Hall east elevation
The view of the east side of the hall across beautiful parkland. The main house dates from 1700, whilst to the right [part hidden behind the big cedar] is a sympathetic extension of 1873/1898.

Gunby Hall
The keystone above the door is dated 1700, but the architect of the house is unknown. Once the home of the Massingberd family and now in the care of the National Trust.

Gunby Hall, Gunby
A good brick house of 1700, built for Sir William Massingberd. Each window pane has 4 by 3 lights, unlike the standard 3 by 2. Doorcase with a swan-neck pediment. Grade I listed.
The house is now owned by the National Trust.

Detail at the Entrance to Gunby Hall
Fine stonework surrounds the main entrance to the house. Just above the door is keystone with the date of construction - 1700. Above that is an elaborately scrolled pediment enclosing a coat of arms representing Sir William Massingberd (boar and three cinquefoils on the left half) and his wife, formerly Elizabeth Wynn (three eagles on the right half).

Gunby Hall - West Fa?ade
Built in 1700 and a National Trust property since 1944, Gunby Hall is a Grade I listed country house in Gunby, Lincolnshire. It was extended in both 1873 and 1898.

Cedar of Lebanon at Gunby Hall
View of one of the magnificent trees in the grounds of Gunby Hall. The east elevation of the house provides the backdrop overlooking the lawn which that day had been set aside for croquet.
