Akbar's Indian Restaurant, Great North Road, Eaton Socon
Formerly a public house called The Plough.
Photographs on the village history website show that this half-timbered building has recently changed colour from white to yellow.

Great North Road, Eaton Socon
Originally the main road from London to Edinburgh (the old A1), Eaton Socon was bypassed by a new road many years ago - probably in the 1960's.
The yellow building is Image] and Image] is further along past the large tree.

Blue Plaque, The White Horse Inn, Eaton Socon
The White Horse Inn. This old coaching inn on the Great North Road has been used for centuries by travellers on the London to York stage. Guests that have stopped at the White Horse include Charles Dickens, Samuel Pepys and HRH the Queen of Norway (1937). Charles Dickens, in his novel Nicholas Nickleby, has Wackford Squeers dining with his pupils at Eton Slocomb on their way north.

Plaque - Eaton Socon Brewery
This plaque was place by Eatons Community Association on the wall of the white house in Image
"This house was once part of the Eaton Socon Brewery - a successful business which owned around 20 public houses and beer houses. Started in the mid 19th century, it lasted for around 70 years. By the 1920s, the buildings were used by Howard & Wrights Corn Merchants. When the buildings were demolished a petrol station was built."
