This road is also the B1099. This stretch of it contains Robert Hale, estate agents http://www.robert-hale-homes.co.uk/ , and various other commercial premises, as well as some extravagantly tall lampposts.

The Fountain
The fountain itself is no more, but the cast iron surround erected to mark the coronation of George V in 1911 is still a notable landmark in the town centre.

A recreation of "March, the Fountain c1955" in the Frith Collection http://www.francisfrith.com/search/england/cambridgeshire/march/photos/march_M28024.htm . I think the fountain housing must have been displaced slightly as well as having fewer steps.

The Fountain, March
Ornate centrepiece of the main road junction at the north end of March's main street. The town is quite modern, it grew when the railway reached March.
