Railway to Peterborough
A view from the little used Manea Railway station, Dr Beeching refused to close it. It is only two coach lengths. There are several old sidings in the area.

Manea Railway Station
Manea is 9¾ miles west of Ely and the only survivor of the four stations that once served fenland communities between Ely and March. Historically the main significance of the station was its agricultural traffic.
During the Beeching era, Doctor Beeching himself refused to close Manea station, due to "the acute social hardship this would cause".
Mondays to Saturdays, there are two daily trains in each direction operated by CrossCountry. There are two eastbound services to Cambridge and Stansted Airport, with two westbound services to Peterborough, Leicester and Birmingham New Street.
There is no Sunday service.

Manea railway station, Cambridgeshire
Opened in 1847 by the Eastern Counties Railway, later part of the Great Eastern Railway, on the line from Ely to Peterborough.
