This view was taken from the passageway leading from the south to the north side of St Peter's church, underneath the high altar at the east end. When the church was extended in the 15th century, the east wall extended right up to the boundary of the consecrated ground, resulting in the construction of a passageway that leads from the north to the south side, below the high altar, so that church processions were able to pass without leaving the consecrated area. The passage has a vaulted ceiling adorned with carved roof bosses. In the 18th and 19th centuries it served as stabling for horses during services.

Walpole Highway and St. Peter's War Memorial
Originally the memorial was in Walpole Highway church but when it was deconsecrated the memorial was moved to the Parish Hall where it has remained to this day.
The memorial bears 24 names for WW1 and fourteen for WW2

Dovecote (house), Walpole St Peter
This old dwelling overlooks the village church. Allegedly it was restored by a group of American treasure hunters in the 1930's searching for King John's treasure. http://www.norfolk-norwich.com/norfolk/villages/w/walpole-st-peter.php
