The Black Bear - Public Houses, Inns and Taverns of Wisbech
This public house and restaurant is on Old Lynn Road, Walsoken, Wisbech. The photographer has drunk in this establishment. Years ago, c1960, the building had a porch on the front with a large stuffed black bear standing on its hind legs in porch. The road it stands on was once the A47 between Wisbech and King's Lynn

The Bell - Walsoken (Site of) - Public Houses, Inns and Taverns of Wisbech
This is the site of a former pub, The Bell which stood between Kirkgate Street and Lerowe Road in Walsoken, Wisbech. The photographer has drunk in this pub before it closed. It was built on agricultural land in 1967 (after the publication of AA Oldham's book) and was demolished around 2010? When first built it replaced a nearby pub also called The Bell which was first recorded in 1794, possibly the one shown on this map http://maps.nls.uk/geo/explore/#zoom=17&lat=52.6722&lon=0.1793&layers=6 A photo taken before demolition can be seen here http://media.geograph.org.uk/view.php?id=1138
