Cowley's endowed primary School
To the south of Town Dam Lane lies the village primary school. Built originally in the 1950's, it has been extended as its catchment area grew. It boasts a large flat playing field to the rear much to the delight of the pupils tutored there.

Parallel Brassicas

Country Walk
This unmetalled path runs south from Town Dam Lane and rejoins it further south in Donington Shoff. It is a pedestrian short-cut that saves many a step and crosses the rail line via an ancient drove road to the south of the village.

Flinders Road
Junction of Flinders Road and Town Dam Lane, Donington. Post-war housing shortage was the reason for this development of housing, The name of the village's famous son was utilised to identify it. It was known as Flinders Way (unsigned) for about ten years, then the local authority turned up with the sign and every resident had to think twice before giving their address.
