Where once there were Willow
This is the junction of Willow Drive and Hawthorn Road. Willow Drive is one of those suburban cul-de-sacs too short to fit the name on most maps, and it often goes unmentioned.
I was out potting centisquares in the newer parts of town, as part of my Covid-19 permitted daily exercise.

The remains of a house
On Sunday 13th of December the occupant of this house had a lucky escape. The act of switching on a kettle caused a gas explosion which wrecked the house but left him with only minor injuries.
The emergency services arrived within minutes, police, fire, ambulance, and the whole incident was handled with huge professionalism in the midst of a pandemic. The footpath is closed on this side because of the excavation in the left midground- the only way to make the gas supply to the house secure was to rip up the pavement and cap the pipe where it is T'd into the main.
