Works alongside Hawkhead Road
At the time of writing, the 1:25000 and 1:50000 map show works here: the BASF chemical works on the western side of Paisley's Hawkhead Road. See Image for a view from a different angle. The site was later cleared: Image

Colourful factories at Hawkhead
The factories are those of BASF, which had recently been in the news. The buildings are located alongside Hawkhead Road, opposite Hawkhead Cemetery: Image The present photograph is from outside the grid square; it is a view from a path that leads around the edge of a playing field, as shown on the map. The path is at the far side of the grassy area that is shown in Image; the same factories are visible in that picture. [In the present picture, the photographic subject is an extended one, but I have used the more central of the two yellow roof structures for the subject position.]

Graham's Bus Service garage, Hawkhead, Paisley ? 1970
Submitted to show the former Geigy, later BASF, chemical works to which the garage was adjacent. The area is currently (2021) being redeveloped as housing. Graham's buses were an independent operator providing a number of local bus services in the Paisley area, and for many years standardised on Guy buses, both new and second hand. No.84, a Guy Arab IV with Northern Counties bodywork, was new to Western SMT in 1955 and joined the Graham's fleet around 1969. This is one of a series of views featuring buses in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. http://www.geograph.org.uk/search.php?i=137652761

Hawkhead Gardens under construction
The houses are opposite the main entrance of Image, which was itself undergoing improvement and maintenance work. The houses are being built on the former site of chemical works: Image / Image / Image (See Image for an even earlier view.) Some more houses were being built not far to the south, presumably as part of the same development: Image

Graham's bus passing Hawkhead Cemetery, Paisley ? 1970
The same location as https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5265047 , the monumental masons (under a different name) being the only surviving building. This view https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5265053 is a little further north and shows how the industrial buildings have disappeared, although the houses are those visible to the right of my picture. The whole area of the former Geigy/BASF works is currently (2021) a major housing scheme in development https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6238317 . Graham's buses were an independent operator providing a number of local bus services in the Paisley area, and for many years standardised on Guy buses, both new and second hand. No.43, a Guy Arab IV with Northern Counties bodywork, was new to the company in 1957 and is working the main route between Linwood and Hawkhead. This is one of a series of views featuring buses in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. http://www.geograph.org.uk/search.php?i=137652761
