I think this is the biggest Primary School I've ever seen! According to the date and inscription stones on the building ... ... it was built in 1909 and opened as St Mary's Higher Grade & Elementary Schools The spelling of Schools being deliberate despite there being only one building. A Category B Listed building on Patrick between Houston Street and Brougham Street. In Early French Gothic style by London architect George Goldie (1862). The original plan included a higher tower (in the foreground) but money ran short and it was never completed.
