Gravestone with carved ship
The Greenock Cemetery Walks booklet (see the end-note for details) mentions this gravestone in its comments for point 7 on the Blue Walk: "a fine example of a ship in full sail". It stands beside the Bow Road boundary wall. Note also the two carved anchors that flanked the inscription, itself entirely worn away.

Memorial to Adam McKay
The inscription on the obelisk is as follows: "Erected in memory of Adam MacKay, son of George MacKay, tacksman (Achairn, Caithness), sometime Quarter Master Sergeant 93rd Highlanders, and for about 20 years House Governor of Sir Gabriel Wood's Mariners' Asylum, Greenock, died 14th August 1877, aged 63 years."
