Sculpture: Egeria
For context, see Image The present view is similar to an earlier one: Image There are verses inscribed on the pavement at the base of the sculpture. "Egeria" (2013) is the first of the points of interest on the Central Greenock Statues Trail (which I was following on the occasion I took this photograph). It is one of two sculptures by Andy Scott that bookend the central shopping area of Greenock, the other being Image The story of the nymph Egeria was closely bound up with that of Numa Pompilius, the second of the seven legendary Kings of Rome.
