Barr's Brae is the name of the road. The view is from a small car park.
The shoreline on the far side of the Clyde extends from Ardoch, right of centre, through Cardross (central), to the south-east bay of Ardmore Point (the Point itself is just out of shot to the left).

Site of the Mill Dam
The dam supplied water to the mill, which was the Gourock Ropeworks at Newark Street. The dam was deliberately breached and most of the water drained out after the mill closed. The photo shows the remains of the dam wall from Devol Road.
