Ridgeway near Watlington
The Ridgeway/Upper Icknield Way is one of the oldest tracks in Britain, dating back some 6000 years. The Upper Icknield Way lies higher up the chalk escarpment than the Lower Icknield Way and was favoured in winter when the Lower Way was waterlogged.
