Shifford church
Shifford church viewed from the Thames Path on the south bank of the River Thames. The church is dedicated to St Mary and is described by Pevsner as 'an undistinguished little chapel of 1863 by J. Clarke'. It replaced an earlier Georgian church. Shifford is an historic site where in 890 King Alfred held the first recorded English parliament.
