The Three Pigeons (1), 31-33 Woodgreen, Witney
Popular pub in the Woodgreen area of Witney that does food, located near Holy Trinity Church. The pub was originally in number 31 but at some point incorporated the house next door at number 33. Both are Grade II listed and date from the early/mid 17th century. The doors and the windows at the front are 20th century. Image Image

The Three Pigeons (2) - sign, 31-33 Woodgreen, Witney
Quite a common name for pubs. This one used to be a Courage house. Their brewery used to be at Reading in Berkshire, but closed in 2010. Unfortunately some of the paint is peeling from this sign. Image Image

Churchyard, Holy Trinity Church, Woodgreen, Witney
The churchyard at this time of year is a delight for those who value wild flowers. Large parts of the churchyard are managed to encourage the growth of buttercups, bluebells and primroses. The church itself is not of great age having been consecrated just under 151 years ago.

Wild flowers in the churchyard, Holy Trinity Church, Woodgreen, Witney
A delightful place to be at this time of year as the churchyard is carefully managed to produce a fine display of wild flowers including native bluebells, buttercups and primroses. Even dandelions and cow parsley have their place.
