From left to right: No. 48 is occupied by Sandwich de Witney, No 49a is occupied by W. & D.C. Lea, ophthalmic opticians, and No 49 is an Oxfam charity shop. Nos 49a/49 is a Grade II listed building dating from the late 17th century, with many later alterations and additions. It was originally a house.

Rather surprisingly this fairly comfortable seating, near the entrance to the Woolgate Shopping Centre, with its backrests has been removed. The replacement is a number of basic bench seats without backs.

HSBC UK, 24 Market Square, Witney, Oxon
The bank in recent years was known as HSBC but recently its UK retail division has become HSBC UK. For many years the building was used by the Midland Bank which was absorbed by HSBC in 1992. The building dates from 1888 and is Grade II listed.
