The local branch of Britain's largest building society. The building was formerly a house and shop. The shop front is 20th century but the bulk of the building is late 17th/early 18th century. It is Grade II listed.

Nos. 48, 49a & 49 Market Square, Witney, Oxon
From left to right: No. 48 is occupied by Sandwich de Witney, No 49a is occupied by W. & D.C. Lea, ophthalmic opticians, and No 49 is an Oxfam charity shop. Nos 49a/49 is a Grade II listed building dating from the late 17th century, with many later alterations and additions. It was originally a house.
