Building Site, Woodstock Road
This looks like they want some cellars or underground parking for whatever is going to be here. Even the four storey house in the background is up on stilts with empty space underneath. Apart from the Royal Oak pub, whose end wall is on the right here, the surrounding buildings are part of a college so I guess they are extending their premises.

Big wheel in St Giles
St Giles Fair is held on the Monday (and Tuesday) following the first Sunday in September - not the first Monday which some people expect. Here the big wheel has been erected in time for the fair. It is seen from Oxford Castle mound which was erected by the Normans over an earlier Saxon settlement. To the right of the wheel (and a little closer) the roof of the Oxford Playhouse can be seen.
