North Parade
North Parade, which is a mile or so south of South Parade, is supposedly the further point patrolled by the Royalist troops defending Oxford during the Civil War. In fact there is no evidence for this but this short, narrow street is a useful resource for the neighbourhood and possesses a village ambience.

The Gardeners Arms
This is one of two pubs with this name in the locality, suggestive perhaps of all the horticultural activity once needed to keep the Oxford colleges supplied with fruit and veg.
