The Romany Inn (1), 3 Bridge Street, Bampton, Oxon
A Grade II listed building dating from the early 19th century with 20th century alterations. For most of its life it was a house and shop, latterly as a grocer's shop. Around the late 1960's it became a hotel and in effect Bampton's newest pub. Today it continues as a traditional inn, offering accommodation, food and a bar. There is a beer garden in which the old Aunt Sally game is played. This still remains very popular in this part of the country.
Update: This public house closed in May/June 2021, following the sale of the building by its owners. There seems to be a proposal to open a bistro here with accommodation and under a different name.
