Silent Soldier at Bampton War Memorial, Market Square, Bampton, Oxon
One of the Royal British Legion's "Silent Soldiers" placed near the Bampton War Memorial. The Silent Soldiers are near life-size silhouettes of a First World War "Tommy" cut from black dibond, which is both tough and weatherproof. The Legion's campaign was launched in 2017 in support of the Poppy Appeal to remember the sacrifices made by our Armed Forces during World War I.

Bell Lane, Bampton, Oxon
The name derives from the fact that this lane runs behind a building which a long time ago used to be the Bell Inn. It is only in recent years the lane has gained an official name. In the past it was referred to as back of the Bell, and possibly still is by older people. Although bollards prevent motor vehicles from entering from Lavender Square at this end, they can enter from the other end to access properties adjacent to the lane.

Bampton War Memorial, Market Square, Bampton, Oxon
The memorial is in the town centre. It reads "To the Glory of God and in memory of Bampton men who died for their country in the Great War 1914-1918". It records the names of these men, plus those who died in the Second World War (1939-1945). A further name is of a local man who died in Afghanistan in 2009. The memorial was unveiled in September 1920 and cleaned in 1982. The sculptor was Alec Miller. At the top, St. George is depicted slaying the dragon.

Large poppy, High Street, Bampton, Oxon
