Footpath junction, Kilkenny Lane Country Park, Carterton, Oxon
The main footpath on the left is heading for the car park, off Elmhurst Lane. It also passes the entrance to the Adventure Play Area. The path on the right comes out on Kilkenny Lane. In between the paths can be seen a dog waste bin. This is a popular area for dog walking.

Shire Horses sculptures (1), Kilkenny Lane Country Park, Carterton, Oxon
These imposing life-size sculptures of two shire horses are by artist Sophie Thompson of Milton-under-Wychwood, Oxfordshire. In the past shire horses were used in this area when it was farmland. The sculptures have been installed to reflect the history of the country park. The sculptures were unveiled in June 2011 by the former Prime Minister, David Cameron, who at the time was the Member of Parliament for the local constituency of West Oxfordshire.

One of the two life-size sculptures of shire horses installed in the country park. The appearance of these sculptures varies greatly with the lighting conditions and the angle from which you look. Fortunately when this set of photographs was taken there was late afternoon autumnal sunshine. However bumping into them on a dark evening could be quite scary.
