This footpath links the Shilton Park housing estate to Northwood Crescent and nearby sports and medical facilities. The railings are in place because there is actually a bridge here crossing a small stream or watercourse.

Marigold Square Co-Op Store
The side entrance to the store in one of the pale coloured buildings which make up most of this recently built neighbourhood. Low key signage and minimum use of tacky posters.

The Co-operative Food, 1-3 Marigold Square, Shilton Park, Carterton, Oxon
Shilton Park is a fairly recent development on the northern side of Carterton. The estate has a few shops and other amenities mainly in Marigold Square. These include this branch of The Co-operative Food, which usefully has very long opening hours, seven days a week. Its size enables it to stay open on Sundays from 8am to 10pm. Until late 2015 the Co-op also had a large supermarket & fuel station in the centre of Carterton. These then closed and Asda now operate from those premises.

Marigold Square, Shilton Park, Carterton, Oxon
A view of part of the large Marigold Square. It serves as the focal point for the Shilton Park Estate, on the northern side of the town. The square includes a few shops, including a Co-op convenience store, and other businesses. Carterton Community Centre is also here, although it cannot be seen in this view. Most of the square, however, consists of residential apartments.

Marigold Square contains a few businesses, including a Co-operative convenience store, an estate agency and a few food takeaway shops. There is also the local community centre but the rest is housing and car parking. In this view, one of the attractive colonnades can be seen. See also:- Image
