Sculpture in Marigold Square (1), Shilton Park, Carterton, Oxon
This sculpture has been erected just outside the community centre. It was commissioned by West Oxfordshire District Council "to celebrate and give a sense of place to this new major development". Made of stasinless steel and five metres high, the council commissioned the work from Richard Thornton Sculpture.

Carterton Community Centre (1), Marigold Square, Shilton Park, Carterton, Oxon
The town's community centre is located on the fairly new Shilton Park Estate, which is some way out of the town centre. There are various activities and community events held here, as well as a café. It opened in late 2008.

Marigold Square, Shilton Park, Carterton, Oxon
A view of part of the large Marigold Square. It serves as the focal point for the Shilton Park Estate, on the northern side of the town. The square includes a few shops, including a Co-op convenience store, and other businesses. Carterton Community Centre is also here, although it cannot be seen in this view. Most of the square, however, consists of residential apartments.

The Co-operative Food, 1-3 Marigold Square, Shilton Park, Carterton, Oxon
Shilton Park is a fairly recent development on the northern side of Carterton. The estate has a few shops and other amenities mainly in Marigold Square. These include this branch of The Co-operative Food, which usefully has very long opening hours, seven days a week. Its size enables it to stay open on Sundays from 8am to 10pm. Until late 2015 the Co-op also had a large supermarket & fuel station in the centre of Carterton. These then closed and Asda now operate from those premises.
