Banbury Merton Street railway station (site), Oxfordshire
Opened in 1850 by the London & North Western Railway as the terminus of its line from Verney Junction via Buckingham, this station closed to passengers in 1961 and completely in 1966.
View south east towards the forecourt, which was end-on to the railway line. See Image] taken from approximately the same position in 1961. The single-storey building was sited just behind where the nearest building now is. The overall train-shed was immediately beyond that.
As can be seen, no trace now survives.

Royal Mail depot at Banbury
The depot was probably sited next to the railway station in the days when parcels and other mail were carried by train, a practice that has almost disappeared apart from the London-Scotland route.
