36-38 High Street, Banbury
Grade II listed. Listing number 1283269. Terrace of 3 houses, now houses and offices. One build. c.1830-40. Red brick, slate roof, brick ridge and end stacks. 3 storeys; 6-window range altogether. Stone steps lead to recessed entrances which have panelled reveals, 6-panelled doors and stone doorcases. Geometrical patterned overlights. No.36 (Coventry Building Society) to left has C20 office front and door. Nos.37 and 38 have wide sash windows with rusticated stone surrounds and stepped voussoirs. 6 French doors to first floor have margin lights, stone surrounds and cornices. 6 sashes to second floor have moulded stone surrounds and glazing bars (3-pane width). Moulded stone consoles. Flanking pilasters. Cast-iron balcony at first floor.

The Exchange on High Street
This Wetherspoon pub is Banbury's former head post office. The premises were rebuilt in 1936, when the telephone exchange was added, giving the building its present name.
