'Shine and shade' in the People's Park
However today was rather dull! In 2011 a number of trees within the park were felled. This one was left in place and carved with faces on two sides.

People's Park, Banbury: the aviary
Erected in 1992 to mark the 40th jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. As aviaries go, this was somewhat underwhelming as it is very small and only contains small cage birds such as canaries and budgerigars.

Five names - Spot, Smut, Nipper, Sam and Stephen - with dates in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, none living more than 13 years. I presume they were dogs. But whose?
