Ruskin College building in central Oxford
This corner is the junction of Worcester Place (on the right) and Walton Street. Since 2012, the college headquarters have been in Dunstan Road, Old Headington, several kilometres from here.

Former Ruskin College building
The college as an institution was founded in 1899 to offer university-level education to working men, with a socialist ethos in contrast to the traditionally conservative University. This building was designed by Joseph and Smithem, built in 1913 and is now grade II listed (list entry 1412747). It is now part of Exeter College.

The name still appears in the recently cleaned stonework above the entrance, but the building is currently owned by Exeter College - part of the said University. What would Ruskin have thought?
