Kingston Lisle Post Office, July 1979
The building is still there but is no longer the village post office. During our walk along the Ridgeway we camped near the village of Kingston Lisle after obtaining water and supplies from the post office (the nice lady running it seemed really pleased to see customers), then went to the pub in the evening. The following day we left our packs at the Post Office and hitched a lift into Wantage. Over 40 years on and I still meet up for walks with my two friends shown in the photo but no more 20 mile slogs with heavy packs, it's more like Last of the Summer Wine now.
