The Wesleyan Methodist Sunday School on the corner of Mill Street and Crown Street was built in 1877. Despite plans to save the building for conversion to apartments, current Council plans appear to involve demolishing the building.

Hudson Bay Nightclub
Still proclaiming itself Ashtons (no apostrophe) "Most Exclusive" Nightclub, it has been closed for many years. Planning permission for its renovation was granted in 2008 but it remains neglected.

County Bank
The County Bank on Stamford Street was for many years the Trustee Savings Bank. In 2010 it was "Gigi's Bar" but now it is divided between a tattoo parlour and the "Amazing Good News Gospel Church".
