This is where the new line will cross Oldham Road. It will run parallel to Wellington Road on the right before going down the middle of Lord Sheldon Way. Ikea is on the right and Aldi on the left.

Ashton-Under-Lyne Metrolink terminus
Metrolink Bombardier M5000 tram number 3092, standing at the Ashton-Under-Lyne terminus of the Metrolink East Manchester line, ready to depart on the route to Rochdale via Manchester.
Phase 3b of the Metrolink East Manchester Extension opened between Droylsden and Ashton–Under-Lyne on Wednesday, 9 October 2013. The new extension added a further 2.1 miles and 4 new stops to the route.
The terminus of the East Manchester Route is on the south side of Wellington Road, just to the west of Oldham Road at Ashton-Under-Lyne. It has an island platform with ramps at both ends to ground/track level. This final stop on the line also forms an interchange with Ashton bus station and is in close proximity to Ashton rail station.
