Moss Mill, Rochdale, Lancashire
This former cotton mill stands forlorn, without its chimney. It is no longer used in the cotton industry, but is partially occupied by some small industrial units.
Many of the other cotton mills in the town have now gone completely; Britain's bread no longer hangs by Lancashire's thread.

Taken looking eastward from Moss Upper Lock, on the left is St. George's Foundry, an engineering works, while on the right hand side is Moss Mill. In the distance, Moss Bridge an just be descried. Note the very bad state of the canal at that time.
