Ellenroad Mill engines
These engines, which are situated in the Engine House visible from the M62, used to power one of the last steam driven Lancashire Mills. The mill itself has since been demolished, but the twin engines Victoria and Alexandra are preserved and run monthly for visitors. They are the largest mill engines surviving and used to power the mill machinery via a ropeway around the flywheel in the picture which in turn drove the lineshafts on each floor of the mill.

Ellen Road Mill
This is all that remains of the famous mill. It still contains the original Beam engine, which powered the mill. The engine has been restored to full working order, and can be seen working on open days. The project was a passion of the late Fred Dibnah, local steeplejack and TV personality.

Ellenroad Engine House - steam engine
At the base of the chimney are he bedplate and crankshaft of the Marsdens Engines horizontal single cylinder engine that used to power Barkers Tannery at Otley into the 1990s. It is now privately owned and was for a while displayed at Ellenroad in steam but has now gone back into store. This view shows it when re-erected at Ellenroad - Image
